Saint Silène was a human princess from the town of Silène, daughter of King of Beryl. She is said to have reached saint-hood after either befriending or slaying a dragon and using newfound powers to defeat her father the imperious king, freeing her people.

Her real story is now lost to time but people still worship her, particularly among dragonborn communities, among whom she did not kill the dragon but was his friend (or wife depending on the stories). Freeing her people from King Beryl is often seen as the origin of dragonborns in the material plane, and many art pieces depicting her riding, or fighting alongside dragons were made.

Symbol

The Spear

In all stories about Silène, her weapon of choice is always the spear. There is no trace of the precise design of the lance and it is often depicted following the artists era spears, sometimes ressembling a long hunting az-zaġāyah, sometimes a fully wooden spear and even on rare occasions as a Lance.
